Ecological Cooperation in South Asia: The Way Forward

The greatest economic damage endured by South Asia since 2001 has not been due to terrorism, but rather due to environmental disasters such as the Indus floods of 2010, seasonal water shortages, and drought. Although events like these might not be preventable, their human impact can certainly be mitigated.

New America Foundation’s National Security Studies Program invites you to a conversation with Saleem H. Ali, author of a recemtly published New America paper on ecological cooperation in South Asia. Ali will join Peter Bergen to discuss the potential this regional approach has to encourage greater cooperation between Pakistan and India.
